Prototyping without Assets
There are benefits to prototyping without using assets.
By not using assets you can focus on the core functionality of what you’re making. Using assets may lead to spending time tweaking small things to make them fit, instead of making sure that the idea you have is any good or fun.
Same as starting a company and then sinking your time into finding the perfect logo, instead of selling or finding your product or service.
Having to only focus on the function, feel, and fun of what you’re creating often means you can experiment more freely. Is it fun moving around? How does the speed feel etc?
A project is a living and ever-changing thing, get the foundational stuff down first, then you can iterate to your heart's content!
